Emporia State University aims to support an inclusive learning environment where diversity and individual differences are understood, respected, appreciated, and recognized as a source of strength. We expect that students and faculty at Emporia State will respect differences and demonstrate diligence in understanding how identities, perspectives, behaviors, and worldviews may be different from their own. Inclusive teaching resources are one avenue for faculty to implement inclusive excellence at ESU. FACULTY SELF-ASSESSMENT

It is imperative to our students' academic goals that faculty at ESU understand, respect, and appreciate other people’s perspectives, behaviors, and worldviews that may be different from their own, and recognize them as a source of strength in the classroom. Taking a self-assessment will help inform you on your areas of strength and potential growth for increased inclusion in the academic setting.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the ESU Faculty Self-Assessment. Self-reflection is pivotal to making positive improvements toward a more inclusive and equitable environment. Improvement to our DEI efforts occur when we examine our current ideas, thoughts, and feelings about DEI issues, so that we become more aware of our strengths and biases.
