EMPORIA STATE UNIVERSITY

Welcome to Emporia State University! We’re so excited for you to join the Hornet Nation. Complete the steps below to set up your Hornet Login and make your way to becoming a Hornet. 

  1. Look up your Hornet Login username.

  2. Activate your account using your Hornet Login username and your default password (provided by admissions). This default password expires the first time you use it, so you will need to follow the prompts to change your password immediately.

  3. Set your account challenge questions. Make sure you choose questions and answers you will remember!

  4. Start applying for scholarships. Log in to the scholarship portal to complete the general ESU application, then browse for other opportunities that may have additional steps. Find the scholarship portal at emporia.edu/scholarships.

  5. Fill out your housing application. If you plan to live on campus, use your Hornet Login to access the ResLife Portal on Hornet365.

  6. Access your ESU student email account. Your student email is your username @g.emporia.edu. For example: chornet@g.emporia.edu. Your password is the Hornet Login password you created in step two.
    Make sure you check this account regularly — you will receive lots of important information here!

  7. Set up 2-step verification to keep your account secure using Google 2-Step Verification or DUO Mobile.

  8. Send your final official transcript to Emporia State University to complete your file. 

    A transcript is considered final if it has no in-progress courses and has the date of graduation (high school transcripts only). 

    A transcript is considered official when it is signed by the designated school official and is stamped with the school seal. It may be mailed directly from the school, sent through Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse or hand delivered in a sealed envelope with a signature across the envelope flap.
